There is Phrase “The Journey of a thousand miles begins with single step” – Lao Tzu. So me and my friend Chandan was sitting idle on Friday Night in our flat in Delhi playing PS2, suddenly My friend suggested to plan a trip to Rishikesh, I argued with him that it is not the time for camping in Rishikesh & Rafting is not going on and monsoon is on peak in Uttrakhand, there he stop me, saying we both are wonderers, nature lover than why you running from Nature. I agree with him and plan to start on Saturday morning, as we know it is not peak season time, we will find low traffic on road.
So we started sharp at 5:00 am in the morning from Delhi taking new Delhi–Meerut Expressway, which is currently in ready state for 9 km. Having breakfast (Chai, Omelet) at Meerut by pass where we reached around 6:15 am. We left from Meerut and by 9.30am we were in Haridwar. We thought to take bath in haridwar but thought to have it while coming back. By 10:30 we were at Laxman Jhula. We book Camps in Rishikesh online and called the Camp manager to for direction, he send his GPS Location and around 30 minute drive from Laxman Jhula we reach our Camp.
Camps were near to river Heul with attach washrooms & other basic amenities like Fan, cooler, Light & weather add cherry on the top it was full of clouds, ready to rain any minute. We were served with welcome drinks, we thought to have some rest as our first meal was lunch which was to be served around 2.30 pm. We had a good sleep as we were tired, around we were served lunch – such a homely food it was (Dal, Mix Veg, Rice, Salad, Raita & Chapatti) we had lots of food & thought to go near river & Enjoy. River was around 20 feet width and depth was around our knees. So we sit there around 2 hours and have lots of photographs and chit chat. Planning for tomorrow and what will do in Night.
Around 5.30 we change our clothes and went for a village walk which was around 3 km from one side & we reached the Bungee Jumping location, but as we were on low budget trip, we didn’t do the Bungee as well it need pre booking.
So came back to camp around 7.30 and we were served with snacks, tea & light music was going on. There were lots of couples and families who were enjoying the evening, it was drizzling and cold breeze temperature around 19 degrees.
Around 10.00pm we were served with Dinner same as tasty as lunch with a non veg dish & kheer & it was very tasty making us feel like we are around home. Around 11pm we were in beds because next day early morning we have planned for Patna water Fall trek. Next morning, we check out of from the camps around 8:00 am having our breakfast (Tea, Paratha, Pickles, Scrambled eggs, bread Jam).
We drive approx. 5 km & Patna reached parking of Patna waterfall, we parked our car and start the trekking which was about 2.5 km, the trek was full of flora & fauna, different species & yes as it was rainy season it was slippery too. We reached waterfall after trekking 40 minute nonstop & the view takes away our breath. It was beautiful crystal clear water. We enjoyed a lot, have Maggi and spend around 1 hour there and starting walking back leaving back the one of the most beautiful landscape from nature. We left Rishikesh around 10:30 am back to Delhi.
I have visited Rishikesh couple of time but, visiting in July was a great Experience, all hills were green river on high flow & someone who wants peace & wants to leave near nature than july is the best time for Rishikesh.
